Step into timeless Florida charm with this beautifully preserved home in the heart of Bradenton. Blending historic character with everyday comfort, this 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence offers classic architectural details, warm inviting spaces, and the unique personality only a true vintage home can provide. Originally constructed in 1888 six blocks east at the corner of First Avenue West and 31st Street West as the first Catholic Church in Manatee County. As Bradentown (now known as Bradenton) began to grow in the 1920s, the church was decommissioned, moved to its current location at the corner of First Avenue West and 37th Street West and the structure was converted into this one-of-a-kind private home. Some small parler rooms were added at that time, but the house still retained many of its original 1888 features. Most notably, this includes the two front doors and two back doors. While some parts of the interior have changes, the exterior of the home largely maintains the original look from 1888. In the early 2000s, a full renovation took place, including a remodeling of the kitchen and upstairs beds and bath. Just a few years later, another renovation occurred that added a large addition on the east side of the home which added a master suite, master bath, large family room and laundry room. From the moment you arrive, you’ll appreciate the home’s distinctive curb appeal, mature landscaping and old-Florida ambiance. Inside, original charm meets functional living with spacious bedrooms, abundant natural light, and flexible living areas perfect for entertaining or relaxing. The thoughtfully designed layout includes a comfortable primary suite, generous guest rooms, and convenient half bath for visitors. The kitchen and living spaces create a welcoming atmosphere while preserving the home’s historic soul. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet morning coffee on the large porch or hosting friends and family, this home delivers character and comfort in equal measure. Located near downtown Bradenton, local dining, shopping, parks, and Gulf Coast beaches, this rare vintage gem offers the opportunity to own a piece of Florida history while enjoying modern-day convenience.
